Message from OPP Detachment Commander

On behalf of the employees of the Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario
Provincial Police, I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to the Township of Hamilton Police Services Board’s website.

The Ontario Provincial Police is committed to the safety and security of everyone and strive to build relationships with every resident or visitor to the Township of Hamilton. As a police force, we are committed to professionalism, accountability, diversity, respect and excellence.

Our Provincial Programs and Services support local detachment officers, which
provide a full service police force within the County of Northumberland. Locally, officer are directly involved in front line service delivery and the detachment hosts many specially trained officer - Emergency Response Team (ERT), Scenes of Crime (SOCO), Technical Traffic Collision Investigators (TTCI), Intoxilyzer Technician, Radar Operators and Instructors, Motorcycle Operators, Marine Operators, ATV Operators and Instructors and Detectives in Crime Investigations to name a few.

The officers patrolling the roadways and responding to calls for service are supported locally by the Street Response Team (SRT), Drug Enforcement Officers (DES), dedicated Traffic Specialists and Crime Unit.

Community Policing is the cornerstone of police work and we work closely with
member of the local Committee to provide us with local knowledge and history.
Combined with the Youth Officer/DARE program, we continue to invest in our youth, the future.
